“Tarah-Baw”
National Costume | ‘KALABAW’
Behind-the-seams of Miss Supranational Philippines 2025 National Costume
The foundation of the costume features a solihiya weaving pattern, paired with a locally sourced Cordillera fabric– symbolizing the interwoven stories of Filipino identity and craftsmanship. Enhanced with voluminous silhouette on the hips, cone-bra bust, and a structured collar to highlight the wearer’s figure and proportion. The shoulder piece is sculpted to resemble the head of a Kalabaw, accented with fine linear embellishments. It is then paired with an elaborate headpiece combining Kalabaw horns and Cordilleran beading motifs, anchored by a traditional salakot, elevated with gold rhinestones and wood bead tassels. The look is completed with brass gold accessories, Lingling-o charm, and a Kayabang basket, serves as a tribute to Cordilleran culture and heritage.
